Bar Crusher 615BR: Family boat turned fishing machine!

WHEN the Bar Crusher crew told us before last weekend’s Melbourne Boat Show it would “unveil a special new boat, unlike anything you’ve seen in our range” there was no joking about it!

Finished in ‘orange fire’ and ‘gunmetal grey’ paint, the brand new 615BR was a surprise for everyone at the boat show – and seemingly a very welcome one judging by the amount of attention this stylish rig attracted, and the number of wives we saw giving the nod to their husbands!

The 615BR was literally having the decals fitted as it was towed out of the factory on its way to the boat show, so we don’t have final specs on it just yet, although Bar Crusher has summed it up as: “The ultimate crossover family/fishing/sports boat, with a comfortable bowrider/lounge configuration that converts to a casting platform.” That it is!

The age-old adage says “a photo is worth a thousand words”, so check out the photos above for more information.

Among other new model releases by Bar Crusher at the show were the brand new 585HT (we can’t wait to get this out on the water!) and the updated 615HT – both of which feature hard-top designs and dash configurations more inline with the larger 670HT, 730HT and 780HT, as well as Bar Crusher’s exclusive Game Lock coaming… a great feature which allows you to lock yourself into an extremely comfortable and secure position while fighting big fish.

Also new from the Aussie fishing boat builder is its latest Special Edition series, the Exocet. French for ‘flying fish’ (and named after the French-built missile), the Exocet is available as a 615C and 670HT and features unique colour schemes, various upgrades and a range of special inclusions.

Check out barcrusher.com.au and its social media channels for more, and stay tuned to Fisho’s online and print editions for full reviews in the future.
