SUZUKI Marine recently announced the launch of its new DF175A and DF150A outboard engines.
The DF175A & DF150A are geared up to deliver power, performance and fuel efficiency from a super compact and lightweight unit.
Osawa Yasuharu, Executive General Manager, Global Marine Products Operation, Suzuki Motor Corporation said the fuel economy is an important issue for all boaters.
“The DF175A and DF150A both benefit from Suzuki’s unrivalled Lean Burn Control System, which is designed to save fuel both at low speed and up into the cruising range.”
“This is an important horsepower sector for us and the introduction of these new models will strengthen our line-up. The new DF175A and the DF150A are packed with the very latest Suzuki’s technologies which will deliver the ultimate boating experience,” Mr Yasuharu said.
Suzuki’s latest outboards are equipped with a semi-direct air intake system to provide the engine with a cooler flow of air, O2 Sensor to optimise combustion, and a knock sensor for superior reliability.
Suzuki has also used its offset driveshaft to move the outboard’s centre of gravity forward, to improve balance and reduce vibration on the transom while contributing to the outboard’s overall compactness.
The DF175A and DF150A will be produced at the brand new Kosai Plant in Japan, with first deliveries expected in January.

Main features of DF175A & DF150A
- With a 2.9-litre in-line four-cylinder DOHC engine, these new models also use a high 10.2:1 compression ratio, which provides great low-end torque and generates impressive acceleration.
- With more torque (3.1% for the DF150A and 2.7% for the 175A), these new outboards generate more power throughout the full rpm range.
- Selection of optional extras such as troll mode system and Suzuki Easy Start System.
