Jervis Bay Game Fishing Club’s annual Okuma White Sands Tournament will be battled out from November 26 to 28. With almost $50,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, the South Coast town of Huskisson (only 2 hours south of Sydney) is expected to attract over 70 boats and 250 Anglers.
The briefing will be held on the Thursday night at the Husky Pub, with fishing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The event will be well catered, with a complementary BBQ on Thursday night, $15 Rib Eye Steaks on Friday night, a full sit down “Tournament dinner” on Saturday night (included in entry fee) plus another complementary BBQ at the Sunday afternoon Presentation. Bacon and egg rolls will be available at the gantry each morning. If history has its place, mighty makos up to 300kg, yellowfin tuna over 50kg and striped marlin will all make an appearance. Many fish have already been encountered during lead up weeks.
