THE AG chain knot has been tested rigorously on GTs, big tuna and kingfish around the globe. Chain knots are quite easy to tie and are used primarily for heavy tackle lure fishing – mainly jigging and topwater casting.
The AG chain knot offers the strongest connection between fluorocarbon leader to lure (or swivel or solid ring) due to the knot keeping the relatively stiff line straight and also preventing kinking which reduces its strength. These knots are particularly useful when using medium and heavy class fluorocarbon leader.
However, chain knots are equally as useful for nylon leader creating a strong connection which offers great abrasion resistance. Remember, serious fish require extra effort to reduce knot and tackle failure!
