LIGHTING technology has progressed in leaps and bounds, and that’s great news if you’re a fisho. Everyone needs a decent torch and headlamp. Most of us spend a lot of time reaching their destination pre-dawn or arriving home after dark, not to mention night fishing where a quality light is essential.
Nebo is a new brand for the Australian market with a range of quality lighting solutions at a really great price. Fisho checked them out at the recent Outdoor Retailer Show and at first glance was impressed with the build quality and long list of innovative features available across the range. We picked up a few of the models for testing, including the Big Daddy, Rebel, Z-Bug Lantern, Redline V and a few more.
While we’ll bring you more detailed reviews over coming months, first impressions show all products have a robust build quality and for their size, some very impressive lumen outputs. The Big Daddy features 2000 lumens; that’s seriously bright. It’s also fully waterproof with a IPX7 rating. The days of carrying a cumbersome spotlight in the boat for navigating after dark are over for me. A torch with this type of lumen output and water proofing is a very welcome addition to my boating equipment. Another useful product from Nebo is the Rebel headlamp. The pint-sized headlamp can reach an impressive 600 lumens and is rechargable via USB.
Stay tuned to the Fisho website and magazine over coming months for more details on the Nebo range.
