THE Jewel rod range from Shimano is back with 13 purpose built models for Australian saltwater and freshwater applications. Built on a T45 blank and fitted with Fuji k Alconite guides and TVS reel seat, the Jewel represents high end construction and great value.
According to the manufacturesrs, the construction of the T45 blank sets the Jewel apart from traditional graphite construction, where a graphite tape is linear rolled at 45 degrees and is then reinforced by two opposing angled premium graphite sheets, creating a light yet extremely strong blank. This promotes accurate and long casts, whilst providing the angler with the confidence to turn up the drag during the fight and muscle fish to the surface.
Each rod that features within the Jewel range has been designed with a target species in mind. There is a swimbait model for Murray cod, top water and jigging models for pelagic species, along with spin models for snapper right through to finesse bream.
