THE Boating Industry Association (BIA) says its annual State of Industry Report is now being analysed, with a large body of data provided by BIA in NSW, Queensland and SA, plus members of the Marina Industries Association and Superyacht Australia.
Key numbers show the marine sector is now an $8.8 billion industry, directly employing more than 27,600 people. The registered recreational vessel fleet is now more than 925,000, with 1 in 10 Australians now holding a boat licence.
The BIA says more reports on key findings covering the impact of COVID, business support measures, access to waterways, regulatory changes and general policy support for boating will be published in upcoming reports.
