Comp Report: Monster bite at Mallacoota SBS Round

BASIN Lure and Fly Anglers Inc held Round 5 of the Southern Bream Series (SBS) at Mallacoota on Saturday and Sunday May 23, 24 – the event was proudly sponsored by Austackle.

The weather in the weeks preceeding the event had been what could only be described as “ordinary”, with hundreds of millimetres of rain falling but the waterway was still in great condition and competitors who pre-fished all said Mallacoota was producing good fish.

Cold conditions and overcast skies greeted the boating teams and kayak anglers on Saturday morning, and the day remained that way with consistent cold winds. It was the same again on Sunday, but later beacme pleasantly warm and sunny.

The final winner in the Boating section was Team Mad Mexicans with Dean Gamble and Bowan Joiner with a 10/10 bag total of an amazing 10.060kg!
