DVD Review: Adventure Bound

Series 9 – Episodes 7-12

THIS twin-pack DVD features more than two hours of solid fishing action covering all the bases from basic estuary sportfishing to hard-core tropical “dream” fishing. As is usual with Adventure Bound, the filming and sound quality is excellent and the presenters – namely Lee Rayner and  Scott Gray – informative, relaxed and personable. I found the squidding episode featuring Lee to be particularly interesting – I enjoy squidding and was keen to see any new techniques. I picked up quite a few tips and was very impressed with the quality of squidding on offer in Lee’s home waters of Port Phillip Bay. Some bloody big squid! Other episodes of note included some silver trevally baitfishing action, a slowish but still interesting bottom banging segment filmed on the NSW South Coast and a pretty cool downrigging for trout show that demonstrated how effective ‘riggers can be when targeting deepwater salmonids. Things heated up with some exciting GT popping in Fiji – Lee made some pretty cool noises while hooked up to rampaging fish! – and a fantastic session targeting large silver trevally and emperor at Norfolk Island. All up, this DVD should appeal to all anglers with an interest in active sportfishing.
