Exist seals the deal

DAIWA says its 2015 Exist improves on previous models via new innovations combining Magseal, Magseal Bearings, Air Rotor, ATD and Zaion making it the manufacturer’s most sensitive, technically advanced reel ever.

Given the popularity of saltwater fishing, sealing a reel is a major goal. Reduced water penetration means no corrosion, longer life and better performance. If saltwater infiltrates a reel and dries, it crystallises and erodes gears and bearings.

In order to increase the durability of the reel, Daiwa made sealing the reel structure an absolute priority. Through years of research and development, Daiwa found the solution – a membrane of magnetic oil, which greatly reduces the penetration of saltwater. By using magnetised oil in conjunction with magnets, the oil attaches itself to the metal surfaces to form a seal. Being magnetised, this lubrication system avoids any friction and minimises dust or water intrusion, eliminates oil spray and improves reel life expectancy.

Not content with Magsealing the rotor/anti-reverse system, the new 2015 Exist also introduces fully contained Magsealed bearings, placed in key points of the line roller system and the gear system of the reel to attenuate water intrusion, increase rotation smoothness and increase part longevity.

Combine Magseal with Daiwa’s other high end technologies including Zaion, Air Rotor and Automatic Tournament Drag, the new 2015 Daiwa Exist sets a new benchmark.
