FISHING World's January 2012 issue is about to hit the news stands.
To offer you even more great fishing reading over summer (Fisho's Summer-long mega mag is also on sale until February 28) the January issue is loaded with practical sportfishing info that's designed to help you fish better and improve your catches.
As you'll see by the monster lizard on the cover, flathead feature prominently in the January mag. And with summer in full swing it's a great time to chase these estuarine ambush specialists, as Fisho's David Green relates in his cover story on rediscovering the lost art of lizard trolling with hard body lures. This under utilised technqiue can be deadly on lizards, so check it out and have a go these holidays.
Also this issue you'll find features loaded with tips and the latest technques for catching some of Australia's most favourite sportfish including Murray Cod, whiting, jewies, snapper and plenty more.
In a special feature South Australian writer Jamie Crawford analyses the fighting attributes of both varieties of jewfish - southern and black - in a bid to decide which comes out on top in the pugilistic stakes.
Targeting snapper on soft lures is a proven and popular technique, but as Jim Harnwell reports in the Jan mag, the new breed of lipless crankbaits increasingly used by switched on fishos are getting great results on big reds - this is essential reading for snapper chasers everywhere.
January Fisho also has great practical features on skipbaiting for marlin; a guide to the top whiting poppers; targeting big gorge bass; regular columns from the country's premier fishing writers and loads more!
