This is your opportunity to help future-proof NSW’s multi-million dollar recreational trout fishery.

NSW DPI Fisheries is staging a series of informal workshops in key trout fishing areas around the state to provide additional info on the newly-developed NSW Trout Strategy.

If you’re a keen trout fisher, this is your opportunity to get involved in helping future-proof this multi-million dollar recreational fishery.

The first regional workshop was held at the Gaden Trout Hatchery at Jindabyne on April 10.

Additional workshops will staged over the next few months in the New England and Central Tablelands areas.

These workshops are a great opportunity to meet DPI staff and to hear about new and ongoing research, enhancements to hatcheries, stocking and management arrangements and DPI/ angler communication initiatives.

The events will begin with presentations from management and research staff after which anglers can see demonstrations on research techniques such as tagging, electrofishing and participate in further discussions.

Workshops will be held at the:

* L.P. Dutton Trout Hatchery (Point Lookout Road, Ebor NSW) on May 25, 2019, from 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm.

* Black Gold Motel Wallerawang (Lithgow) on June 15, 2019 from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm and then on Lake Wallace from 3.30 pm to 4:30pm for fish stocking and scientific displays.

Registration is vital in order to help with workshop seating and catering purposes.
