Men apprehended with 23 set lines in Murrumbidgee

Fisheries Officers recently found a total of 23 lines set within 250 m from a campsite on the Murrumbidgee River in NSW.

NSW DPI Fisheries Officers are reminding anglers that no more than two hand held lines can be used in inland waters after apprehending three men using 23 set lines in the Murrumbidgee River near Whitton NSW recently.

Officers were conducting a vessel patrol of the Murrumbidgee River when they observed the three men checking and re-baiting the lines. The men were camping on the riverbank and officers found a total of 23 lines set from within approximately 250 m up and downstream from the campsite.

All three men had their lines seized and will receive multiple penalty notices for several alleged offences.
