Pictured is a 116kg southern bluefin tuna caught and filmed for YouFishTV at Eagle Hawk Neck, Tasmania.
The anglers pictured are local 11-year-old Lachi Nichols, Victorian dairy farmer Tim Haw and Brendan Wing (right), YouFishTV presenter and fishing writer.
According to Wing, the tuna took the trolling lure pictured only 50 metres from land. It was landed one hour and five minutes later on the 27kgs (60lb) spin outfit pictured.
“We were dragged about 4kms offshore in this time. Awesome trip with 85 tuna released in four days. Yes, that’s the rod and reel and yes it nearly vaporised the spool and yes the hook is almost straight.” said an obviously excited Wing.
