National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo arrives in Melbourne this weekend

FISHING, 4×4 and camping enthusiasts will be in their element when the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo returns to the Melbourne Showgrounds from this Friday, August 18 until Sunday, August 20.

The action-packed event for anyone interested in fishing, boating, 4WDing, camping and outback leisure will feature thousands of the latest products from hundreds of exhibitors and retailers.

With over 30,000 square metres dedicated to everything outdoors, the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo will be a one-stop shop for many recreational interests under the one roof.

Those looking for a bargain at the Show will be in luck, with over 200 exhibitors in one place fighting for the attention of Show visitors. The Bargain Hunters Guide, available online at www.4x4show.com.au/melbourne, is a great place to start, listing all of the deals exclusive to the event.

There will also be plenty of activities for the family, including the new Base Camp feature simulating a real camping experience complete with a campfire, bush tucker by the Campfire Cooking Stage (hosted by AFL legend Spida Everitt), fly fishing lessons by Yarra Valley Fly Fishing, Australian wildlife and a bush musician.

Also providing plenty of action will be the popular Action Arena, returning to the event again in 2017. Visitors will watch as BMX, freestyle motocross (FMX) and quad bike riders perform outrageous stunts and tricks throughout the three Show days.

For those who would like to put their 4WD skills to the test, the purpose-built Amarok V6 4×4 Proving Ground will feature a variety of surfaces to simulate being off the beaten track, including a sand trap, water crossing, compact rock segment and a steep incline.

There should be plenty of handy tips imparted from the fishing stage.

On stage, don’t miss out on learning some new fishing and outback tips from the experts. The Tackle World Fishing Stage will host professional anglers Paul Worsteling and Steve ‘Starlo’ Starling, while the Waeco CFX Outback Stage will showcase cricketing champion Merv Hughes, alongside outback gurus Rick O’Brien, John ‘Roothy’ Rooth, Shaun Whale and Graham Cahill and Jase Andrews.

Of course, if that isn’t enough for the little ones, they will be kept busy with the always exciting Kids Terrain.

The National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo will provide plenty of opportunities to win fantastic prizes during the weekend, including the ‘Scan To Win Promotion’. To enter, guests must register their ticket to the Show by purchasing a pass online or via the iPad stations inside the event. Then they must simply visit each stand from participating exhibitors to scan their ticket.

Prizes include a TJM Ultimate Protection Pack valued at over $5,000, Legendex Exhaust System and Thrust Monkey Throttle Controller valued at over $2,000, a Waeco CFX 95DZW Fridge and Freezer valued at over $1,800, one of five ride days with BajaBoard and the team valued at $1,590 each, and the opportunity for the winner and a friend to join Rick O’Brien and The Offroad Adventure Show on the road for the filming of two episodes valued at $4,000 per person.

Ample visitor parking is available at Flemington Racecourse throughout the event, with free shuttle buses running to and from the car park to the Show from 8.30am each day.
