RECREATIONAL fishers are being reminded to familiarise themselves with the new South Australian recreational fishing rules which came into effect last week.

From Thursday 1st December 2016, changes to fishing limits for 26 species are in effect, including size, bag and boat limit changes for one of the state’s most popular species, King George Whiting.

PIRSA Fisheries Officers, along with Fishcare Volunteers, will be visiting popular fishing hot spots throughout the busy summer period to hand out information on the rule changes.

Information relating to the new size, bag and boat limits are available through various sources, including the PIRSA website, SA Recreational Fishing Guide app, South Australian Recreational Fishing Limits brochure and signage posted at jetties and fishing spots across the state.
