NSW DPI has announced on Facebook that while NSW public health orders are in place, its fisheries officers will be requesting all fishers they speak with to “check in”, so the contact is formally recorded.

The new QR codes will allow rapid and accurate traceability if there is a “close contact” with someone that is infected, and it enables fisheries officers to continue their important work as safely as possible during the outbreak.

NSW DPI is asking fishers to help protect its fisheries officers the community by scanning the QR code when requested.
