NSW fishos get a say on marine stockings

NSW anglers have been given the opportunity to comment on proposed future fish stockings in the state.

Up until January 31, 2012 the general public can now submit their views on the environmental impact of proposed marine fish stocking in selected NSW estuaries.

Species covered by a new Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), on display at NSW DPI, Fisheries, Planning & Infrastructure Offices and coastal councils, include mulloway, yellowfin bream, dusky flathead, blue swimmer crabs, Eastern king prawns and mud crabs.

The EIS can be downloaded from www.fisheries.nsw.gov.au or requested in CD form from fishstocking.eis@industry.nsw.gov.au or (02) 6042 4202.
