A BULL shark caught in Swansea Channel has caused a social media frenzy after a photo of the huge shark hanging at the weigh station was posted on Facebook.
The pic was shared by the Offshore Fishing NSW page and it has reignited the debate over whether big sharks should be hung up and weighed.
Conservationists argued that the animal died for no other reason than to be weighed, while fishermen defended their legal right to do so.
Some fishos also pointed out that after the shark was “gut-hooked” there was no way it would’ve survived release.
