Prizes announced for Australia's richest inland fishing tournament

WHETHER you’re a keen angler, never fished before or just enjoy a weekend away with mates on the river, then the 2019 GoFish Nagambie tournament is the perfect event to fill your Anzac Day weekend with!

The competition will be held between April 25 and 29, 2019. All anglers that are entered into the tournament have the chance to win $500,000 in cash and prizes. You don’t even need to land a fish to be in the draw to win prizes. That’s right, you aren’t seeing things, a guaranteed $500,000 in cash and prizes will go off at GoFish Nagambie 2019.

To win the competition you need to snag a fish, snap a photo using the GoFish Nagambie App and you’re in with a chance! If that hasn’t snagged your attention, then maybe the prize haul will!  Organisers reckon that Cod O’Clock and Carp O’Clock that will excite and raise the heart rate of all fishos!

The top 10 prizes for the GoFish Nagambie Tournament, powered by Mercury Marine, totals $315,000.

These are:

1. Biggest Overall Murray Cod: $80,000 cash

(Single biggest Murray cod goes home with the $80k cheque in the bank).

2. Jayco Cod O’Clock: 4 x Jayco JTRAK OBX valued at $27,500 each

(Each competition day, organisers will be giving a JTRACK OBX to the first person to catch a cod of the nominated size within Cod O’Clock)

3. Boats and More Carp O’Clock: Clarke Boat and Suzuki Engine package valued at $24,000

(On Super Saturday, we will be giving a Clark Boat and Suzuki Engine to the first person to catch a carp of the nominated size within Carp O’Clock)

4. Murray Cod Champion Angler: $20,000 cash

(Largest total combined length Murray cod across the three-day fishing comp)

5. Biggest Overall Golden Perch: $20,000 cash

6. Second Biggest Overall Murray Cod: $15,000 cash

7. Second Place Murray Cod Champion Angler: $10,000 cash

(Runner up in the Murray Cod combined length comp

8. Solar City Marine Carp O’Clock: 2 x Quintrex Boat and Yamaha Engine Packages valued at $10,000 each

(Carp O’Clock – Friday: On Friday, organisers will be giving a Quintrex Boat and Yamaha Engine Package to the first person to catch a carp of the nominated size within Carp O’Clock. Then there will be another Quintrex Boat and Yamaha Engine Package given away to anyone on any day! That’s right…this amazing prize will be won by an angler randomly selected on the main three days)

9. Golden Perch Champion Angler: $10,000 cash

(Largest total combined length Golden Perch across the three-day fishing comp)

10. Second Largest Golden Perch: $6,000 cash

(Second single biggest yellowbelly across the comp)

Event Director Rod Lockwood said, “the remainder of the prize pool will be split so that anyone can win, in fact over 400 people could walk away with prizes! This is a competition for everyone, for all abilities across all age groups and the prize haul will be given away!”

As well as the chance to take home a haul of prizes from the event, there is plenty of action happening off the water too. The banks of Nagambie Lakes will play host to the Festival Hub which is sure to have heaps of family fun.
