Report: Southern Bream Series Round 2

BASIN Lure and Fly Anglers Inc held Round 2 of the Southern Bream Series (SBS) at St Georges Basin on Saturday February 28 and Sunday March 1 – the event was sponsored by Tonic Eyewear.

Saturday morning greeted 53 boating teams and 25 kayak competitors with beautiful calm conditions, as did the Sunday, although the weather forecast was for a strong wind warning from the south. Due to predicted strong winds and for safety reasons a decision was made to shorten Day 2 to finish at 12 noon rather than the normal 2pm – the decision proved the right one as the southerly came through at 11:30am at around 30 knots.
