THE Western Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) has set up a working group to develop a harvest strategy for the West Coast demersal fishery (WCDSF).

The WCDSF stretches from north of Kalbarri down the coast to east of Augusta and incorporates some of WA’s most popular recreational fishing species including dhufish, pink snapper and baldchin groper. The harvest strategy will include clearly defined management actions.

Recfishwest will be representing WA’s recreational anglers in the working group and says it would like to hear your thoughts to develop the best harvest strategy possible. To share your experiences of this fishery and your views on its future, you can take Recfishwest’s survey here.

What's your reaction?
