LAST weekend SHOK Fishing hosted a successful social media based fishing tournament at St Georges Basin on the NSW south coast.
On the eve of the tournament last Saturday the weather had taked a turn for the worse, but once dawn started to break the sun was fighting its way through, much to the relief of the 40 anglers that had braved the early conditions.
By mid-morning the sun was out, jumpers were off and the tournament was in full swing.
The day saw over 40 fish uploaded via the tournament app with reports of large numbers of juvenile fish being caught in between.
With the ability to check the live leaderboard throughout the tournament, anglers fished franticly up to the dying minutes trying everything to land that winning fish! Once the smoke cleared and the clock read zero, these anglers the came out victorious:
- Bream- Ben Smeeth (Smoit)
- Flathead – Wal Balzan (Walloper)
- Whiting –Ben Blades (Bladzey)
- Snapper – Lachlan Gubb (gubby)
- Tailor – Tait Fortier (Taito)
- Kids – Ben and mark
For those that didn’t manage to claim the top prize and full bragging rights, they still had hope in the lucky door prize which was an awesome Raymarine Wi-Fish sounder. The lucky name that was pulled out of the hat was a very happy and surprised Natalie Webb.
