Simrad has enhanced its product range with two new high-specification VHF radios.
The fixed-mount RS10 and RS25 have each been designed to resist the harsh marine environment and feature easy-to-use Digital Select Calling (DSC) operation.
The RS10 and RS25 incorporate all the standard features expected from a VHF radio as well as a number of special features, including full GPS co-ordinate and time display (when connected to a GPS), channel naming and adjustable keypad backlighting for easy use in low-light conditions.
The RS10 has a large LCD screen with four-line static display, which means no bothersome scrolling of GPS position on the screen. The RS25, with its extra large LCD, is the only VHF on the market that accommodates up to two optional wireless handsets using certified full-function Bluetooth 2.4Ghz. This provides intercom functionality anywhere in the boat up to 100m from the base.

The RS25 also has a digital barometer function and fishing predictor that indicates the fishing conditions. Its barometric display has large easy-to-see 24-hour histogram graphics and digital weather forecasting.
Simrad’s new fixed-mount and handheld DSC-equipped VHF radios will be available before Christmas. RRP from AU$272 (RS10).
