THE Sofala Carp Blitz is on again this year on the weekend of November 18-19. There is free camping along the Turon River. Visit the oldest surviving gold town in Australia and do the environement some good at the same time.
There are Heaps of prizes to be won including fishing gear, holidays, gold nuggets, a fridge freezer and so much more. Register on the river below the Mudgee – Bathurst Road Bridge. There is planty of camping there as well as a stack of other locations along the river. Bring your gold pan as well as your fishing rod as the low river levels make it easy to find some gold.
It is a family friendly event so all are welcome.
