THE Southern Bream Series (SBS) Grand Final was held at St Georges Basin on Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th – the event was run and sponsored by the Basin Lure & Fly Anglers Inc.

Over the two days the event’s top 40 boating teams and top 15 kayak competitors enjoyed warm conditions and clear sunny skies (until the weigh-in on the final day, when the skies opened up and the rains bucketed down combined with thunder and lightning, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of all the competitors). A total pre-fish ban had been in place from midnight Friday October 2nd until the commencement of fishing on Saturday the 11th, allowing all competitors a level playing field and hopefully to see the return of many full bags.
