TESTED: Spanyid lures

Talking Spanish

SPANYID Lures introduced three new products earlier in the year – the “Bite It”, “Strike It”, and “Thunder Flash”. Fisho’s been testing the “Strike It” regularly on Sydney Harbour pelagics.

We’ve found it works a treat on the salmon, tailor and bonito and will no doubt nail a few kingfish over summer too. The design of the “Strike It” gives it a fluttering action for medium to fast retrieves and the flashy chrome finish attracts almost any predatory critter.

It’s definitely worth trying at a medium retrieve rate around structure for kings as the flash and flutter movement imitates a fleeing baitfish perfectly. It is available in sizes from 10 gram up to 80 gram, covering everything from trout to oversized kingies.

The other two products consist of the “Bite It”, a spoon style flashy lure for slow to medium retrieves and the “Thunder Flash”, a multi purpose high speed lure.

Also worth checking out are Spanyid’s own line of blades, which were released at this year’s AFTA show.
