TRIBUTES have flowed for well-known boating journalist, David Lockwood, who passed away on Friday.

Lockwood was highly regarded for his knowledge of boats, the boating industry, and a high calibre of boating journalism matched by few.

David’s career spanned several decades and he was widely recognised for his boating and fishing columns in the Sydney Morning Herald and his editorship and contribution to national magazines and websites such as Trade-A-Boat and BoatSales.com.au. He also authored several books on fishing.

He was more than a boating writer; much of his spare time was spent onboard his flybridge cruiser fishing and enjoying the boating lifestyle with his young family.

Tributes flowed across social media on the weekend with messages of condolences from the boating and rec fishing industry, along with his many loyal readers.

David was 51 years old.

Fishing World offers our condolences to David’s family.
