This edition of Fishing the Edge was filmed on Lake Macquarie on the NSW Central Coast where Guesty and the team found some red hot tailor action on surface lures. As the bite goes on the tailor grow in size and there are plenty of exciting surface strikes!

We usually head out deep for snapper and sharks. Usually. We were watching this video just before heading to the tackle shop on a bait buying spree. I was looking at a stand in the shop that was simply titled "Walking & Surface Lures," so with the recent video in mind I bought us all a lure. (A big investment for me. I'm usually as tight as a fish's gearbox with my coin.)To cut a long story short. There was not much action on the big boys and then when the wind came up, while we were out wide, we had a mess around go in close with the surface walkers. I do not think you could have four brothers have so much fun if you paid them. We were like little kids with the keys to the lolly shop, the chocolate shop and the icecream parlour next door. Three hours we messed around trying to outdo each other with strikes, leaps and boasting. I can not wait to get my four children out and into it. It just shows, "I am never too old to learn new tricks." Thanks for the info and the fun we all had messing about.
