THE Save the Bay Coalition (Save Yarra Bay Coalition) has organised the “Save Yarra Bay Protest Flotilla”, to be held on 15 March.

The on-water and beach protest on Yarra Bay beach is to protest the NSW government’s and Royal Caribbean’s proposal to build a cruise terminal in Botany Bay – a designated Recreational Fishing Haven.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the aim will be to cover the Yarra Bay with anything that floats. Those that don’t like the water have been encouraged to contribute to a beach installation.

Protesters who plan to bring a boat on the day have been asked to register with their details and call sign at saveyarrabay@hotmail.com.

The day will culminate in a photo/drone capture at 1pm when all the pleasure craft are on the water and in place, with a few words scheduled from local leaders.
