IF you plan to tow, then you’ll need a vehicle that has plenty of torque. The Isuzu D-MAX boasts 430Nm of torque, courtesy of the Isuzu truck-derived 3-litre turbo diesel engine. Isuzu says D-MAX backs its endearing reputation amongst fishos with 3,500kg braked towing and a solid gross combination mass (GCM) of 5,950kg across the D-MAX Hi-Ride range.

However, if it’s space for the family you need, Isuzu says its best-selling ute-based SUV MU-X should be top of the list. For towing, the numbers stack up; 430Nm of torque from the same turbo diesel engine shared with the D-MAX, 3-tonne braked towing capacity and a gross combination mass (GCM) of 5,750kg across the MU-X 4×4 range. If you don’t plan to venture off the tarmac, Isuzu says there is significant savings to be had with the MU-X 4×2 – still benefiting from 3-tonne braked towing capacity and a GCM of 5,650kg — one of the best capacities in the segment.

The entire 19MY Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X range are backed by a dealer network of over 150 sites and the “Service Plus 6-6-7” care package; encompassing a 6 year warranty, 6 years roadside assistance and 7 years capped price servicing.

Isuzu says D-MAX and MU-X are geared for any adventure and ready to “tow your own way”.
