VIDEO: “Cracking the code” and what it takes to breed and stock Macquarie perch

DR Jarod Lyon from the Arthur Rylah Institute and Paul Worsteling chat about “cracking the code” for Macquarie perch, and what it takes to breed and stock “Maccas” today.

Late last year, adult Macquarie perch took a chopper ride from Lake Dartmouth to the Snobs Creek hatchery where more than 145,000 fingerlings were reared. Those offspring were stocked into six waterways earlier this year, including bushfire affected rivers such as the Cudgewa Creek, King River and Buffalo River.
