THE new Ocea 8 PE line has been designed to match Shimano’s flagship Stella SW and Ocea Jigger series.

To meet the demands of anglers and the hard fighting species they target, the pull strength of the new Ocea 8 is up to 25 per cent greater than the current Ocea EX8 for the same diameter.

Ocea 8 utilises Shimano’s exclusive Tough Cross braiding method. What makes it stand out from the rest is that the line is woven at 45 degrees under tension to create a tighter fibre structure. Shimano says, this results is a line that is more stable, easier to manage and possesses increased abrasion resistance.

Shimano Heat Sink line coating has been developed and applied to PE5 (What is PE rating?) and upward to reduce concentration of heat from guide and drag pressure on the line.

The Izanas fibre has a new and improved fibre lay technology prevents flattening of the line that could lead to premature breakage.

Ocea 8 is available in PE 1.5 (30lb) and PE 2 (41lb) breaking strains on 300m spools, PE 3 (58lb), PE 4 (73lb), PE 5 (89lb), PE 8 (102lb) and PE 8 (137lb) on 400m spools, and PE 10 (139lb) on 500m spools.
