THE winter tuna bite has kicked off with a bang outside of Sydney with good reports of yellowfin tuna feeding on the surface.

Earlier this week, the team onboard Pro-Fish-Ent, skippered by Sondal Bensan, fishing alongside Simrad Pro Mike Bonnici, Scooter Kerstens and Navico crew Laura Tolmay, Greg Karakozian and Fisho’s Pat Linehan had a day to remember with calm seas, bright skies and tuna mayhem.

The crew started trolling Trophy Hunter Profidgie lures early before switching tactics and casting stickbaits at surface feeding yellowfin.

The change of tactics paid off with an agressive topwater bite throughout the day and consistent catches of 30-60 kilo fish.
