THE Recreational Fishing Alliance of NSW (RFA) says the La Perouse to Kurnell ferry plans on exhibition means more lockouts for recreational fishers.

In June 2020, the RFA told ferry plan consultants to avoid popular fishing areas and believed there was consensus.

Despite consulatation, the RFA said recreational anglers have been “screwed over” by the NSW government when the Environmental Impact Statement showed the “Ferry Swept Path” went straight over recognised fishing grounds and areas advised to be avoided.

The RFA says it is calling on Adam Marshall MP to bring the ferry plan consultants back into line and protect recreational fishing areas and recreational fishing havens.
