KEEN anglers who are collectors of fishing related memorabilia may be interested in a new silver coin recently produced by the Perth Mint.
The 2014 $1 Rock Fishing 1 Oz Silver Proof Coin is the last of the four-coin 2014 Land Down Under series.
Each coin is struck from one ounce of 99.9 per cent pure silver and features a coloured reverse emblem featuring rock fishing.
The 2014 Land Down Under series debuted with coins showcasing the Great Barrier Reef and the Australian Gold Rush. Those were followed later with the Australian Stockman Silver Coin and now this newest issue.
Each coin is housed in an Australian map-shaped latex case. A certificate of authenticity and an illustrated shipper accompany each purchase.
So if you’re looking for an out-of-the-ordinary present for a fisho you know, this could be it.
